The Division services a population of over 115,000 of which 2% are of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander origin.

Located on the southern, urban fringe of metropolitan Perth the Division boundaries include a mixture of outer metropolitan suburban and industrial areas. The Division services a population of over 115,000 of which 2% are of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander origin.

The major population centres covered by the Division are Rockingham including Port Kennedy and Secret Harbour, Kwinana, the coastal towns of Golden Bay and Singleton plus newer inland areas such as Wellard and Baldivis. Also in the Divisions boundaries is the Naval Base at GardenIsland which is one of the biggest naval bases in Australia. The Division has over 34 kilometers of coastline which has attracted substantial growth in the area making it the fastest growing area in Western Australia, and the fourth fastest growing area in Australian.

It is estimated that more people in Rockingham Kwinana DGP are reported to have higher rates of Asthma, Diabetes, Cardiovascular Disease and Mental Health Disorders than elsewhere in Western Australia. (PHIDU, Nov 2005.) Also noted in is the higher levels of people who have asthma and are smokers, compared to Perth or Australia.
